BJJ Gi Size Guide — Ronin USA
Finding the right gi size matters for both comfort and performance. A well-fitted gi allows full range of motion while giving your opponent less loose fabric to grip. This guide covers the Ronin USA sizes we stock: A2, A2L, and A3.
Available Sizes
| Size | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| A2 | 167–180 cm (5’6”–5’11”) | 75–86 kg (165–190 lbs) |
| A2L | 180–191 cm (5’11”–6’3”) | 75–88 kg (165–195 lbs) |
| A3 | 180–188 cm (5’11”–6’2”) | 86–102 kg (190–225 lbs) |
How to Choose Your Size
A2 vs A2L
Both sizes are designed for similar body weights. The difference is height and arm length. A2L adds length to the sleeves and jacket body — if you are taller than 180 cm or have longer arms, A2L will give you a better fit at the wrists and ankles. If you are between 167 and 180 cm, A2 is the standard choice.
A2L vs A3
A3 is wider in the body and shoulders, suited for heavier builds above 86 kg. If you are 180–188 cm and above 86 kg, A3 is the right choice. If you are taller but lighter, A2L may still fit better — contact us with your measurements and we will advise.
Shrinkage
All Ronin gis are pre-shrunk before finishing. The size you order is the size you get after washing, provided you follow the care instructions: cold wash (30°C maximum), hang dry, no tumble dryer. Full care instructions are on the After the Bell page.
Competition Fit vs Training Fit
For competition, a snug fit is preferable — less loose fabric means fewer grips for your opponent. For daily training, a slightly looser fit is more comfortable over long sessions. If you are buying primarily for competition, size down if you are between sizes. If you are buying for training, size up.
IBJJF Regulations
All Ronin gis we stock are IBJJF legal in their respective colours. The exception is the Camo green model, which is approved for training only. If you are competing at an IBJJF-sanctioned event and are unsure about a specific model, contact us before ordering.

In the cathedral of combat, where silence speaks louder than thunder and respect is earned through sweat and submission, there exists a sacred garment. Not merely cloth and thread, but the very skin of warriors who have chosen the path less traveled—the way of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Here, in our carefully curated collection, we present gis conceived not in boardrooms but in the hearts of those who understand that technique conquers strength, that patience defeats fury, and that the gentle art teaches life's hardest lessons. These are garments for souls who know that mastery begins with respect—for the art, for the opponent, and for oneself.
Our gis are woven from 400 to 600 GSM fabrics that embrace the fighter's form like a second skin, moving as naturally as breath itself. Each piece bears intricate embroideries that tell stories older than memory—of warriors who became teachers, of teachers who became legends. Crafted by artisans who understand that every stitch carries the weight of tradition, they come in colors that speak to the soul: the pure white of new beginnings, the deep blue of oceanic depth, the midnight black of infinite possibility. Whether you stand tall or move low, carry weight or flow like water, these gis transform to honor your unique journey on the mat.
This is where commerce becomes pilgrimage, where the search for perfect gear ends with sacred partnership between warrior and cloth. These gis are not merely worn but inhabited, not simply covering the body but revealing the soul of the fighter within. Step onto the mat. Feel the weight of tradition in your hands. Embrace comfort that honors both ancient wisdom and modern innovation. Become not just another practitioner, but a living embodiment of the gentle art itself.

WARNING: Respect and Treat Your Armor Correctly
Your premiere armor is not just an accessory—it's your protection, your strength, and your key to survival. Neglecting it, mistreating it, or using it carelessly can lead to serious consequences. Treat your armor with the respect it deserves, maintain it properly, and ensure it's in top condition for your safety and success. Failure to do so could jeopardize not only your protection but your entire mission.
Handle with care!
BJJ Gi Care & Cleaning
Cold Wash Only – Wash at 30°C or lower to maintain durability and prevent excess shrinkage.
No Belt Included – Gis are sold without belts. Rank must be earned and purchased separately.
Shrinkage Warning – All Gis shrink slightly, typically between 1-4%. Choose your size accordingly.
Avoid Harsh Detergents – No bleach or fabric softener. These weaken fibers and reduce lifespan.
Hang Dry Only – Tumble drying causes excessive shrinkage and damages the fabric.
Wash After Every Roll – A clean Gi is a sign of respect. Bacteria thrive on unwashed fabric.
Train hard. Maintain your gear. Show up ready.

Expected Wearable Life of Paragon Elite BJJ Gis
The expected wearable life of a Paragon Elite BJJ Gi or training garment refers to the duration it is designed to last under regular use, provided it is cared for according to our maintenance guidelines. While our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gis and performance gear are engineered for high-intensity training and durability, all textiles naturally wear over time. Components such as stitching, collars, and fastenings may eventually show signs of use.
At Paragon Elite, we craft our BJJ Gis and training apparel to withstand the rigours of martial arts training, rolling sessions, and competition. When properly maintained, our garments offer extended performance. However, like any technical sportswear, they do have a natural lifespan. If your Gi begins to show significant wear or performance decline, it may be time to consider a professional repair or a responsible replacement.
Our customer support team evaluates product life expectancy based on multiple factors, including:
The type of garment (e.g. Gi, rash guard, shorts)
Frequency and intensity of use (e.g. daily training, competition)
The specific issue reported
The age and condition of the product
To ensure a fair and accurate assessment, we may request information about the item’s usage history. In some cases, a decision may not be possible without this detail.
At Paragon Elite, we are committed to quality, sustainability, and longevity. We encourage repairs where possible, rather than unnecessary replacements, to reduce waste and keep your training gear competition-ready.
How to Make a Warranty or Lifetime Repair Claim
1. Submit Your Claim
Email us at [email protected] with the following details:
Your original order number
Clear photos of the product and visible damage
A description of the issue (When did it occur? Under what circumstances?)
Confirmation of how the garment has been washed and dried
If your item was purchased from an authorised third-party retailer, we can still assist with repairs; however, full warranty coverage requires proof of purchase directly from paragonelitefight.com.
2. Send Your Item
Once approved by our support team, you’ll be instructed to return your garment using our returns procedure. If the damage is not covered under warranty, we will offer a repair quote based on current service rates through our certified repair partners.
Note: All garments must be freshly washed before being sent back. Unwashed items will be cleaned by our team for a small fee, which may delay the repair process. Repairs typically take 6–8 weeks, depending on the issue and demand.
3. Receive Your Item Back
If your claim qualifies under our warranty, we will repair and return your item at no cost. If a repair is not covered, we’ll provide a quote and proceed only after your approval.
